I apologize to all of our Internet Explorer (IE) users on versions prior to 7.x. We made a design change to our site several months back that severely gimped some of our most popular content. When I made the changes, I only checked Firefox 2.x and IE 7.x . Considering IE 6.x users make up about 30% of our reading audience, that was a big "no no". I think I've fixed the majority of the major issues, and pages like our lists for Omaha Restaurants
and Omaha Restaurant Reviews
. Until now, IE 6 users thought we didn't know any restaurants in Omaha that started with a letter past 'D' (the bug was chopping off the rest of the list).Download Firefox.
So have fun rediscovering our site. I would, however, recommend upgrading your browser if you have the ability to do so. It generally provides a better and more secure browsing experience. And if you haven't yet done so, I also recommend downloading Firefox, which is our browser of choice (along with 22% of our readers).
In some other display and design news, we're also in the process of updating our design a little. The new looks and feel will feature 3 columns instead of our current 2 column design. This will allow us to feature more tools and popular content along the sides as well as give us more flexibility in displaying multimedia in our main content section, such as including pictures directly in our posts instead of require readers to click through to Flickr
Widescreen LCD Monitor
Now the bad news, this will require us to take up more horizontal screen space. For the majority of users this will not be an issue, but for the 6% of our users who browse our site at 800x600 and below, it may be time to invest in a new monitor. To see if you're one of those people, check out our preview of the redesign
